Came across this 2x2 framework recently and found it a great tool for multiple experiential planning purposes. You could use it to plot competitive experiences or as a way of defining the a new experience you are designing. It’s also great for establishing how your brand is going to interact as an experience brand — whether you are in a true experience industry, like hospitality, or a commoditized industry that is striving to stand for something bigger, like vitamins or insurance. To truly understanding this framework, it is important to know the axes. Active — passive participation entails the level of customer involvement in the creation of the experience. Absorption is “occupying customers’ attention by bringing the experience into the mind” and immersion is “becoming physically or virtually a part of the experience itself” Heres more from the original authors’ http://bit.ly/2qCDK2u
